camping anhänger

Beitragvon ortica » 27. Mai 2016, 14:10

Hi guys!

Does anyone already try a camping anhänger like this:

I've got a james baroud tent on my defender and it is not very easy to use for multiple reasons and I'm asking my self if this solution could solve some issues.

Do you have feed back to share?
Thanks

Hello from ze other side of the mountain :)

It solves the issue that its much easier to open a roof tent on a trailer or a pickup loadbed compared to a Land Rover roof.
And you can leave it standing on the campsite while you go to explore with your vehicle.
And you take the camping gear only with you when you need it, just hook up.
So the Land Rover stays the most versatile vehicle in the world. Otherwise it becomes for everything, exempt camping, the most versatile unpractical vehicle in the world. ;)

It does though make ferry crossings more epensive.
And it takes a place to park.
And it makes the trailer unpractical. :D

Well, said that, it depends if you're more of a trailer or a Land Rover guy...

Myself i use a trailer and a Pickup, because i like the space available for everything possible :D

Hi Nick!
Yeah greatings from the other side ;)

Thanks for your answer that give me a good confirmation for what I suspected. I'm interested in the trailer as it would be also a good projet for me to costomize it... And trailers are not so expensive.

I will think about it in the next month... And talk with my lady

If anybody have another feedback don't hesitate!

Hello there,

Camping trailers work well, I have used mine for years, mostly because I need the roof for canoes.

I can't really add anything else to what Nick mentioned in his post.

The trailer I have came from Australia, and was driven to Basel with a Toyota... I then had to weld the frame to support the rooftent. It's easy to drive off road with it, as long as the Defender gets through, the trailer follows...

If you are interested, let me know, I might be selling the trailer sometime soon, still thinking about it...

Take care for now.

Hi Philippe,

Thanks for your answer.

I would be very interested in more picture of your trailer. We may also imagine a meeting some where? Don't know where you stay... Basel I presume?

I may be interested but need more information, we could continue in private messages.

Hi agains Sylvain,

Here are some pics I found... you can basically see what it's all about. There is a kitchen area with gas stove that hocks on the side (for cooking standing up), a large table/foor preperation plaque next to it. There is a large drawer on the back that slides out, and lot's of starge room, for water (water pump), food, luggage, etc...

If you are still interested, give me a ring...

Take care for now.
